I’m Kiah, an eating disorder and vegan dietitian and founder of the Plant Nutrition and Wellness Clinic, a Brisbane-based private dietitian practice.
I believe that eating should be easy and enjoyable – not the cause of guilt, stress and anxiety!
Like many women, I used to be obsessed with the latest fad diets, food rules and trying to get the number lower on the scales. I felt like I was in a constant war with food and my own body. I was counting calories, feeling guilty over eating too many cereal (what!), and getting extreme anxiety if I didn’t burn it off! Eventually I was fed up with living with thoughts about every food I had eaten and calorie I had consumed constantly on my mind. I knew it wasn’t sustainable, enjoyable and it was starting to have a big impact on my life and relationships.
At the same time, I decided to go plant-based to reduce my impact on the earth. It was through my own recovery journey and learning about the power of plant-based nutrition I am now the strongest, healthiest and happiest I have ever been!
My struggles have inspired me to help others as Accredited Practising Dietitian and in 2017 I founded PNW Clinic.
As a dietitian, my aim is to educate, support and inspire my clients to become their own personal dietitians.
I have two main goals in the way I practice:
Firstly, I’ll never tell you to go vegan (unless you wish to), but I’ll show you how easy, tasty and nourishing it is to “eat more plants” and how even eating 1 extra plant-based meal per week can help prevent and manage of chronic disease and help live a healthier life.
Secondly, I help to teach my clients how to break free of dieting, transform their relationship with food and learn how to love their bodies!
I place a strong emphasis on fad-free, evidenced-based nutrition. I show my clients there is so much more to health than drinking kale smoothies and spending hundreds of dollars on supplements that don’t work.
I also have a strong interest in the dietary management of endometriosis and adenomyosis having being diagnosed with both conditions myself. In 2020, I also published a chapter regarding nutrition for these conditions in Endometriosis 101: For the significant other by Dr Graham Tronc in early 2020.
When I’m not helping clients optimise their plant-based diet or transform their relationship with food you can find me writing new articles for our blog, uploading posts on instagram (@theplantbased_dietitian) or spending time with my family and new baby Skyla.

All new and review patients can be seen by other members of the PNW team, all have been trained by Kiah.
